Yuan Liu
Yuan Liu is a visual artist and photographer based in Germany. Born in China in 1995, his work moves between fine art photography, street photography, architecture, portraiture and long-form visual projects.
His artistic practice was shaped in Düsseldorf, where he studied fine art photography, abstract painting and conceptual art under German artist Professor Michael Reisch. He later continued to develop his photographic language in New York through street photography studies with British photographer Phil Penman.
His images are guided by quiet observation, spatial sensitivity and an interest in the subtle tension between people, cities and places. His work has been shown in Cologne and Bonn, including Galerie Altes Pfandhaus and Atelierhaus des Bonner Kunstvereins.
